Hair Removal
The Science
No doubt you are aware of a few of the options available when it comes to temporary hair removal, whether it be tweezing, shaving, waxing, or depilatories. Many of us have had hair removal routines and frustrations since puberty! Still, many of these methods can be time-consuming, or lead to irritated skin or ingrown hairs.
In a dermatologist setting, laser hair removal is a powerful and long-lasting solution for unwanted hair. Using concentrated light, our lasers produce an energy beam that is absorbed by each individual follicle, deactivating the bulb. Moving area by area, the follicles can be targeted without harming your skin, resulting in less hair over time.
Our Approach
When unwanted hair becomes a nuisance, the LightSheer® DUET™ is a successful, long-term option for men and women. Unlike other models, the DUET incorporates suction, making it less painful for patients. “It doesn’t work on the hairs that are in a resting phase, which is why it’s important to complete at least six treatments, so you treat all of the hair,” explains Dr. Francesca Fusco.
What We Offer
Our Doctors Say…
“During the course of treatments, the laser works to disable only actively growing hairs, which make up about 25% of the total area at each visit.”
